Now, they’ll face Aquinas in a quarterfinal matchup on June 1 at a site to be determined.
“We got complacent,’’ Lakewood coach Duane Cooper said. “The last quarter, we stunk the gym up. We just have to play (good, consistent basketball for) 32 minutes. If we can do that, I think we are fine.’’
In the fourth quarter, Eastside came roaring back, outscoring the Lancers 25-6. Nate Anderson did most of the damage, scoring 15 of his 22 points in the stanza.
Free throws down the stretch by Chris Willis (2 of 2), Mason Pachecho (1 of 2), and Jalen Shores (1 of 2) kept the game out of reach.
Shores also scored 4 of his game-high 26 points in the final stanza.  He had poured nine points second quarter, also the period when Bernard Dickerson tallied 11 of his 14 points. Then Shores duplicated his scoring out point scored the third quarter. That’s also when Willis drained two of his 3-pointers and had scored 8 of his 14 points to help the Lancers build a 30-point lead.
“Defensively, he gets us going,’’ Cooper said. “He does a good job of getting steals. He does a good job of getting into passing lanes. That gets (us) going.”
In the first quarter, Pachecho ignited the Lancer's huge lead.  He scored 10 of the team’s 23 points, hitting two 3-pointers and scoring off the dribble drive.  He finished the game with 15 points.
Lakewood held a comfortable, 45-21, lead at halftime. With 3:34 left in the third quarter, the Lancers held a 56-26 advantage.
“We came out super strong in the beginning,’’ Shores said. “If we are going to go all the way, we have to clean (up to our play) in the fourth quarter.) I think we gave up our (30-point lead).
“  I think we got a little too confident in the end,’’ he continued. “We took them for (granted) In the fourth quarter, it looks ugly. Great teams always play strong four quarters. If we are going to be a great team, we have to play four strong quarters. We will get better as the playoffs go on. A win is a win at the end of the day.’’
